Parma is a city located in Canyon County, Idaho. As of the 2000 census, Parma had a total population of 1,771. As of the census of 2000, there are 1,771 people, 617 households, and 454 families residing in the city. The population density is 743.2/km² (1,919.5/mi²). There are 676 housing units at an average density of 283.7/km² (732.7/mi²). There are 617 households out of which 38.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.3% are married couples living together, 9.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.4% are non-families. 23.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.85 and the average family size is 3.41. In the city the population is spread out with 31.4% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 19.1% from 45 to 64, and 14.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 33 years. For every 100 females there are 97.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 94.7 males.
