Wilder is a city located in Canyon County, Idaho. As of the 2000 census, Wilder had a total population of 1,462. As of the census of 2000, there are 1,462 people, 389 households, and 315 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,485.5/km² (3,885.7/mi²). There are 421 housing units at an average density of 427.8/km² (1,118.9/mi²). There are 389 households out of which 52.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.6% are married couples living together, 9.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 19.0% are non-families. 17.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.76 and the average family size is 4.30. In the city the population is spread out with 39.2% under the age of 18, 13.3% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 15.1% from 45 to 64, and 7.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 24 years. For every 100 females there are 99.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 100.7 males.
